Can you redrill rims

When either the hub side bolt pattern does not exceed 6x The hub lug bolt pattern will be determined by the number of lug bolts and the distance between the opposing hub bolt see 4-lug hub diagram. All but 5 - lug patterns are measured in this manner. If your trailer wheel hubs have 5 lug bolts, measuring is slightly different.

Be sure that you skip one bolt when measuring. They are not a safety hazard nor dangerous and if properly installed not a vibration problem either. The wheel and tire combination needs to be balanced and then it works fine. Is it safe to redrill wheels? Asked by: Prof. Nicolas Mills. Can you reduce wheel offset?

How do you drill a hole in a lug? Can you Redrill 5x to 5x? Can you Redrill axles? Can you put 5x on 5x 3? What are lug holes? How do you enlarge a bolt hole? Is positive or negative offset better? How much can I change my wheel offset? How long does this process take? I have multi piece wheels, do you need just the centers? Do I need new lug nuts after a re drilling? If you don't already have them, you'll need 60 degree conical lug nuts or lug bolts.

On some wheels you will need tuner or spline drive lug nuts. If you're not sure please contact us for more information.

Do I need hub rings? We recommend hub rings for wheels that are not hub centric. Can I ship you my wheels? Yes, please contact us before shipping to get a quote for return shipping. What's the difference between a dual drill and a redrill? Standard Redrill Dual Redrill. Qty Add to Cart. Add to Wish List Compare this Product. Your Name. Your Email. Yes but I was looking at the offsets more then the actual drilling part. If the off sets are the same then that would would make life easy. If you're going to the trouble of redrilling rotors, why wouldn't you just redrill the existing hubs?

Are you sure you're a machinist? That can be easier said then done depending on how much you have to work with. To much stock removed between the lug holes and you weaken the hub to the point it's not safe. But that all depends on how the holes lay out. You have 4 hubs 2 rotors and 2 drums that need done. If it was me I would buy the hubs and redrill the Rest. Going from 5X to 4X shouldn't be an issue. The 4X pattern gets closer to the center of the hub and only one of the holes should be close to an existing hole.

The actual big factor is whether or not the back of the hub flange is solid or has reliefs between the stud holes. If it's smooth and of uniform thickness, you're golden.

If it has been relieved between the holes, you're hosed. There's only one way to find out and that's to try it.
